ClearLite’s CFLs are designed to be earth friendlier, he noted. They have the same energy saving features as conventional CFLs, yet are free of liquid mercury. Instead, they use amalgam, an alloy of mercury combined with other metals in a solid form, helping make compliance with government regulations for mercury reduction easier to meet.
